I started ‘Bending The Frame‘ to create projects that envision my ideas about photography. Instead of complaining what was wrong or could be better with things, I wanted to create things and see if we could literally bend some frames. The idea for #Slide was to rethink the framework of a slideshow and match up photographers with an amazing body of work to incredible musicians that have the art to improvise and who can have a dialogue with the photographer. The result was then performed live during 3 consecutive evening screenings in Antwerp.
The collaboration between Sohrab Hura, Hannes d’Hoine and Sjoerd Bruil has been more then incredible in every way and travelled around to Berlin, Minnesota, Gent,…
Each different live performance or screening had it’s own feel and magic but London stands out. 3 live performances by Hannes that captivated the audiences, a continuous loop of the piece during the wonderful Peckham 24 photo festival, a party with our own resident dj Faster PussyKat aka Katrijn Sermeus.
Now Sean O’Hagan of The Guardian makes ‘The Lost Head & The Bird’ screening his #2 of the past photography year.
So so proud!! Wow wow wow. Thank you Iona Fergusson and Vivienne Gamble for bringing this amazing piece of Sohrab’s and Hannes to London. It’s been special in every single way imaginable.
