Every year on the 11 November Armistice Day is commemorated to mark the peace treaty signed between the Allied Forces of World War I and Germany. It took place at eleven o’clock in the morning—the “eleventh hour of the eleventh day of the eleventh month” of 1918.

Many countries now use the day as a remembrance to honor veterans and soldiers killed in both the Great War, World War II and  other subsequent conflicts.
